Move-Out Donations

Your unwanted items are someone else's treasures

IU community members are invited to donate gently used items to reuse & waste diversion initiatives during the Spring 2024 move-out season!

Donated items will be made available to incoming students, community organizations, and IU programs.

For on-campus student residents:

A variety of acceptable items detailed below will be collected directly at residence centers. Items will later be distributed to IU and community partners. Please look for more information from IU Housing. Additionally, IU Apartment residents may consider the International Furniture Give-Away program.

For off-campus students and all other community members:

Donations will be collected via drop off at E-House. To donate, items must be brought inside the building (a ramp and wagon for transporting items is available) 10a-5p Tuesday-Friday on any regular IU business day. Please reach out to sustain@iu.edu to request a wagon, for special scheduling, or any other questions.

Space will be prioritized for the 8 types of items below for free of charge lending in Fall 2024. Excess items will be distributed to IU and community partners including IU Surplus.
