Move-out Donations

Your unwanted items are someone else's treasures

IU community members are invited to donate gently used items to reuse initiatives during the Spring 2025 move-out season!

Donated items will be made available to incoming students, community organizations, and IU programs. This includes but is not limited to: IU Sustainability Move-In Free Store & Lending Library, the local nonprofit network, and IU Surplus.

For on-campus student residents:

Acceptable items will be collected directly at residence centers in labeled areas - typically floor lounges and building lobbies. Please refer to center desk staff for location details. Collection will take place for 2 weeks: Monday April 28th to Friday May 9th.

Additionally, IU Apartment residents may consider the International Furniture Give-Away program trailers located at Tulip Tree Apartments and Campus View Apartments.

For off-campus students and all other community members:

Donations will be collected on campus at E-House. Items must be brought inside or onto the building's wooden deck between 10a-5p TUE-FRI on regular IU business days. Items will be accepted until storage is full. Please reach out to sustain@iu.edu with any questions or special scheduling requests.

E-House Storage Status: Open

Community members may also consider donating directly to local organizations - some offer options for scheduling pickups. Please see the City of Bloomington moveout resource.
