Sustainability learning doesn't just happen in the classroom. Co-curricula and extra-curricular programs are essential for enriching the student experience and offer valuable opportunities to apply course education, gain new perspectives, and build new technical and professional skills.

Sustainability Scholars

The Sustainability Scholars program pairs selected undergraduate students with world-class faculty mentors to start researching sustainability issues as soon as their first semester at IU. In addition to gaining meaningful research experience and mentorship, students receive a $500-per-semester scholarship.

McKinney Climate Fellows

McKinney Climate Fellows (MCF) is a workforce development program connecting undergraduate and graduate students interested in climate, sustainability, and community resilience with career experiences. The program partners with Indiana-based private, public, and nonprofit organizations to host student fellows and provide solutions-based sustainability expertise.
