Sustainable IT

IU’s cutting edge information technology services and infrastructure make the university a global leader

Sustainable computing practices require thoughtful consideration of these questions. Ensuring suppliers follow ecologically accepted standards of operation, practicing responsible sourcing, developing methods to educate students, staff and faculty on eco-friendly computing practices—all of these are sustainable computing.

Goals + Progress

By aligning the 2020 Vision Goals and the Integrated Energy Master Plan, the University is working to:

  • educate an advocate for efficiencies on campus; and
  • to serve the triple bottom line of aligning goals to leverage impacts on society, the environment and the economy.

As members of the Indiana University community, we have a responsibility to be sustainable with our technology.
